Textile Coating Silicone

Synonym: silicone impregnated silicone coated

Textile coating silicone is a single-component or two-component liquid silicone rubber elastomers. Among them, the single component is RTV silicone rubber, which can be cured at room temperature, two-component is HTV silicone rubber which cures bya polyaddition reaction, requiring solidification into a transparent elastomer at high temperatures. This product is designed specifically for textile coating, with good elongation and softness, It is ideally suited for underwear and underwear stretch fabric and tape, as well as fabrics for medical applications, providing excellent non-slip characteristics.

Features

Textile coating silicones systems are specifically engineered considering the characteristics of both the substrates and the processes, enabling optimized interaction between the textile and the coating material. The textile composite can then provide the best possible functions for each application, including:

Water repellency: Forms a coating (oil film or hard coating) on textiles to provide excellent water repellency.

Weather and heat resistance: The chemical bonds which form the backbone are siloxane bonds (Si-O-Si), so the interatomic bonding energy of these processing agents is high and they have excellent weather and heat resistance. Silicone coatings remain flexible even at very low temperatures.

Excellent adhesion: High bond strength without primer on textiles from different origins, Excellent adhesion cotton, nylon, polyester, polyamide, polyurethane, and various blends.

Anti-slip: Textile coating silicone have the unique ability to provide a mild-adhesiveness for some applications that need to exhibit anti-slip and release properties at the same time. High-grip properties of coating silicone to meet end users’ product needs.

Softness: Silicone greatly reduces the friction coefficient between fibers to achieve distinctive softness.

Durability: Resistant to dyes and detergents. The flexible film which forms on the fiber surface improves the durability of the fabric with respect to washing and dry cleaning.

Rebound resiliency: Fabrics have excellent rebound resiliency due to the flexible elastic coating which forms on the fiber surface.

Eco-friendly: Compatibility with human health and safety needs, as well as comfort feature. Textile coating silicone do not contain organic plasticizers. They are therefore not prone to plasticizer migration problems or embrittlement due to plasticizer evaporation or degradation.

Applications

Textile coating silicone additional softness and smoothness on the surface of fabrics and textile substrates. Due to their transparency and adhesive characteristics silicone elastomers impart this desired wear comfort and keep textiles in the correct position if they are applied on the right spots.

Most textile coating silicone are used in women's underwear, socks and medical stockings. In addition to these fields, silicone coatings are currently more and more used for sportswear, straps for glasses or technical textiles.

Typical application case of textile coating silicone:

  1. Hosiery (ladies’ socks and stockings).
  2. Technical media (conveyor belts).
  3. Lace coating of continuous or non-continuous bands (for support stockings).
  4. Bra Strap and support band coatings.
  5. Table lace fabric and industrial fabrics where non-slip characteristics are needed.
  6. Highly stretchable fabrics where non-slip characteristics are needed,  Such as undergarments, athletic wear, working gloves, etc.
  7. Orthoses, Medical support stockings.
  8. Medical apparel and compression garments.
