Potting Compound IPX Waterproof Grade Effect Reference

Potting compounds can play a waterproof and moisture-proof role for the potted components, but different potting compound waterproof level varies, of course, this is also related to the material of the potted components, waterproof potting compound IPX waterproof level is the level of waterproof protection function, IPX waterproof level is divided into a total of 8 levels, respectively, from IPX-1 to IPX-8, the waterproof ability is enhanced in turn.

Definition of IP level: The enclosure protection level (IP code) is to classify products according to their dustproof, foreign object intrusion, waterproof, and moisture-proof characteristics. The following is a list of IPX waterproof grades for your reference.

IPX0: There is almost no ability to protect against water.

IPX1: Anti-drip Type I: can provide water-proof protection equivalent to 3-5 mm/min of rainfall for 10 minutes, and water droplets falling vertically have no harmful effects.

IPX2: Anti-drip type Ⅱ: is basically the same as IPX1, but it can pass the waterproof test of 15 degrees of upturn in all directions.

IPX3: Rainproof type: 60-degree splash water-proof protection, providing water-proof protection with a flow rate of 10 liters/sec for 2-5 minutes and a pressure of 80~100n/m.

IPX4: Splash-proof type: Basically the same as IPX3, but can provide all-round and angular splash water protection.

IPX5: Anti-spray type: Provides water-proof protection with a flow rate of 12.5 liters/sec and a pressure of 30n/m for 2 to 3 minutes. It is directly exposed to water jets in any direction without harmful effects.

IPX6: Water-resistant type: It can resist 3 meters of underwater depth for 2~3 minutes, with a flow rate of 100 liters/minute, and a pressure of 100 n/m. It will not enter the interior when it is directly sprayed by water in any direction.

IPX7: Anti-immersion type: It can be immersed for 30 minutes under 1 meter of water without entering the interior.

IPX8: Underwater type: Long-term immersion in a certain pressure of water will not affect the use.
