Silicone potting compound is a two-component silicone material consisting of A and B parts, which is widely used in sealing electronic components and can play the role of waterproof, moisture-proof, flame retardant and insulation for potting products. The following shares the correct use of silicone potting compound.
1. Weighing: according to the ratio of AB using instructions, accurate weighing of part A and part B. At present, the ratio in the market is mostly A:B=10:1 or A: B=1:1 which are two kinds. It is better to stir the liquid silicone part once separately before taking the glue, because the flame retardant powder and thermal conductive powder will sink into the bottom of the barrel.
2. Stirring: Mix the weighed part A and part B together and stir well.
3. Pour the silicone: Injecting the well-mixed silicone material into the electronic components. Usually silicone potting compound can naturally eliminate the air bubbles, you can also use a vacuum pump to de-bubble the effect is better.
4. Waiting for curing: place the potted electronic components in a dust-free horizontal position and wait for curing. It can be cured at room temperature or heated. It should be noted that if platinum curing silicone is used, the electronic components with solder will cause the silicone to fail to cure. At this time, a primer should be sprayed to solve it.
