1. Product Ingredients
Generally speaking, water-based mold release agents consist of at least three components: base material, emulsifier and water. The base material can be considered as the active ingredient, which ultimately plays the role of mold release lubricant. The materials used are generally oils, greases, waxes, polymers and silicone substances. The role of the emulsifier is to uniformly disperse the above materials in a continuous aqueous phase with very fine particles to form a stable emulsion. Water is used only as a carrier.
The main components of water-based mold release agents made by emulsification using refined oils and various additives are: mineral oil, animal and vegetable oils, synthetic grease, natural paraffin, synthetic paraffin, silicone oil, solid (lubricant), emulsifier, additive, mold inhibitor, rust inhibitor.
Most of the high-quality release agents are formulated from 15~25 kinds of raw materials, and if the key ingredients or additives are changed by 1%, the release characteristics may be very different, and the cost and price will also bring a big change. According to the category of effective mold release substances in water-based mold release agents, they are mainly divided into three categories: silicone oil type, wax type, and fatty acid type.
1, Silicone oil water-based release agent: silicone oil and silicone oil derivatives are more suitable as polyurethane mold release agent, which has good mold release, such as an aluminum alloy molding casting with mold release agent, consisting of silicone oil, special pressure lubricant, emulsifier and water. Over the years, it has been proved that silicone oil and its derivatives have a good mold release effect. However, when the molded products need to be secondary processing, such as post-painting, silicone oil-based mold release agents have certain side effects.
2, Wax water-based release agent: polyurethane molding products used in the mold release agent to wax-based, wax has good mold release properties. Early wax is added to organic solvents to make mold release agent, recently reported that the wax can be added to water and made into a suspension of water-based mold release agent, the wax used for natural wax or synthetic wax such as polyethylene wax. This type of release agent is mainly used in the production of soft foam.
3, Fatty acid water-based mold release agent: this kind of mold release agent contains components of advanced fatty acid esters, fatty acid salts, other additives and water. It is used in the production of hard and soft foam mold products.
